Red was never a color associated with weddings before, but these days, brides and wedding guests have been seeing red. Perfect Bound did a whole story on dresses in varying shades of red. The jump-off point for this feature is the Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard. Red is also a strong color for the coming fashion season. Loved these dresses from Dolce & Gabbana and BCBG Maxazria (as seen on Perfect Bound).

Red or berry shades lend a very regal touch to any wedding. Just check out this wedding on Junebug Weddings. The couple, Grace and Raj, wed in a sea of pinks, purples and reds. (And I LOVED Grace’s tiered wedding dress, by the way!)

On Blissful Bride, a couple picked red, burgundy and pink to capture the amour.

Polka Dot Bride also featured a couple who surrounded themselves with the power of red. Shasta and Guard’s wedding wasn’t bleeding red, but I loved the red touches…on the flowers, umbrellas and even the bride’s shoes! (But it did look a little red orange.)

Trendsetting Weddings also did a take on red. Mike and Katie’s wedding was called a Wedding of Wonders (read the full story on TW), and it was also wonderfully punctuated with shots of red.

Red is a powerful color. Obviously, it is not subtle in any way. If you’re a little bit of a color-phobe, you may want to do red in small doses, like in some of the samples above.
