VowDoo’s Best in Wedding Blog

Pre-Wedding Extras

In the last two months that I have been doing this blog, I’ve been so focused on actual wedding details that I’ve forgotten about the “before” the wedding, which is just as fun and exciting!

I especially love, love, love bridal showers. I thoroughly enjoyed mine, and to this day, I still thank my friends for it. The bridal shower is the bride’s other special day, and it should be executed with much love and thought. This is why I totally adored the DIY project I saw on my go-to wedding blog, 100 Layer Cake. Mimi of Mika78 (with calligraphy from Byrn of Paperfinger) made this pretty, personalized bridal shower invite. You have to see the intricate goodies inside!

Snippet & Ink, meanwhile, shared this yummy mood board that’s just perfect for bridal showers (and baby showers, too). I would never pick these colors for my actual wedding, but the pinks and yellows are sooo pretty for a bridal shower, don’t you think? (Hubby burst my bubble and said that it’s also good for Easter Egg Hunt. Whatever.)

My other favorite thing before the wedding is the engagement photo shoot. I have seen a lot that I failed to blog about—sorry ’bout that—but there are two I saw this week which I found really cute. Compositions are different, but the moods of these two sets—laid-back, relaxed, and totally real—are the same.

One was posted by Green Wedding Shoes, a dreamy, beach Cali engagement session—in Laguna Beach, of course.

I LOVED this one on Brooklyn Bride. So fresh, so cozy, so cool.
